Number Recognition Pixel Art - Number 5
Math, Early Math, Numbers, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, Activities
Are you looking for fun activities for practicing number recognition? These pixel art worksheets are perfect for getting your students to practice number identification for the number 5! Different options for how to use this resource: Cut and paste You can choose to print the colour square pages on white paper. -This is the simplest option, but it will take a lot of colour ink. Or you can choose to print the black line squares pages on colour paper. -This will use a lot less ink, but it will take a little more work to prepare. -You may struggle to find colour paper in all the colours I have used. If you have a problem finding the right colours, you can generally substitute a different colour if you need to. Simply look at the answer key to see what the pictures are and choose an appropriate substitute colour. Colour by number You will only need to print the worksheets and allow the students to colour the squares themselves. Preparation: Worksheets 3 printing options: 1. Full colour - best if you will be able to use all the same colours that I have used. 2. Partial colour – I have left the colours blank. You will need to tell your students what colours to use for each number before they can start the activity . This is best if you need to make some substitutions because you are printing on colour paper and cannot find all the correct colours. 3. Black and white - like with the partial colour version, you will need to tell your students what colours to use for each number before they can start the activity . Squares Pages If you are using this resource as a cut and paste activity . 2 printing options: 1 .Colour squares pages (Print on white paper. Each page will have information telling you what picture it is meant for. Simply give each student a block with the different colour squares along with their worksheet) 2. Black line squares pages (print on colour paper. Each page will have information telling you which picture it is meant for, as well as the recommended colour paper to use, and how many students will be able to get their squares from one page. Cut on the dotted lines and give each student one section of each colour page for the picture they are working on.) Bingo Games #1: 7th Grade Math Review
, Not Grade Specific, Games, Activities
This Bingo Games #1: 7th Grade Math Review comes with two Bingo Games for 7th grade math reveiw. There are 2 games of 8 questions each. Skills covered are: proportional word problems, distributive property with fractions and decimals, upper and lower quartiles for a set of data, evualte expressions, solve an equation, mean for a set of data, word problems using increase and decrease with negative numbers, probability, trends in patterns with graphs, box and whisker plot, similar triangles, percent with ratios, order of operations with fractions and decimals. Directions for Bingo Game: Have students to make a 4 x 4 game board. They will fill in the answers in random order. This way everyone has a different board but all of the answers. Put up the first 2 questions. When all students finish #1, you can change to the second page, which still has #2 but also #3 for those that have also finished #2. This allows some students to work ahead when ready. When everyone has finished #2, move to the next screen, which has #3 and #4 as some students will be ready for #4. Continue in this way. Students will put a mark in the corner of the square---Don’t have them completely mark out their answers in the first game because they will use this same board in the second game. Students MUST show their work on paper to get credit for a BINGO. For the problems that don’t have work to show, they must explain their answer on paper. The first game uses questions #1-8. In a regular size class there should be 5-6 bingos after this many questions. You can start the second game #9-10 or save that for another class time. Just make sure students save their board because both games use the same board. I like to give a piece of candy (like jolly rancher) for BINGOs. I always help students with their problems since I used BINGO as practice not as an assessment.

This however required a lot of material and the unwelcomed task of lugging them all home with you to mark. But we used them because they were effective and allowed us to effectively assess our students understanding. NOW: Why use digital interactive notebooks? As prices decrease, many schools are moving towards a 1:1, computer-student ratio and are becoming digital, the way we teach needs to keep up. You don’t even need a class set of computer, a personal device (cell phone, laptop, tablet, etc. will work just as well). Digital interactive notebooks provide all the same means of organization and assessment but without the physical notebook. This… 1) Saves you from bringing them back and forth/storing them in your class. 2) Purchasing all the necessary supplies. 3) Having them get lost, misplace pages, etc. Once you purchase, you’ll get a direct link. This link will allow you to place your own copy of the digital notebook into your Google Drive folder. From there, simply distribute the file to your students. No notebooks, no glue, no scissors, not even a USB in sight. Everything is stored and can be assessed in the cloud from any computer in the world. If your students go on holiday, they can access it. If they’re sick, they can access it. What activities will you find inside my Digital Interactive Notebooks? • Interactive drag-and-drop activities • Embedded Videos that play inside the slides along with questions • Calculation questions • Audio recorders – students record and upload their own auditory answers to questions • Fill-in-the-blanks • Drawings – students create their own drawing then easily upload them to their slides using their device or computer • Research questions • Extension questions for early finishers, those wanting extra credit, or incorporated into the mainstream assignment • Vocabulary check on the entire unit • Lots more Click here to get immediate access to a sample file so you can see exactly what’s being offered → http://bit.ly/TWF-DINB . What if my school won’t pay for Google products or access to Google Classroom? These notebooks can easily be made available off-line for access anywhere. Left-side/Rights-side. Is there a place for students to include their own notes? Yes! That’s the beauty of going digital. You don’t need a left and right side. When you or your students want some more room, just add a slide and go to town. Worried about plagiarism? I use turnitin.com to ensure my students are submitting their own work. However, I attempt to make these as interactive and individual as possible, which all but eliminates cheating. Do you feel that your students will miss out on the hands-on experience they receive from traditional interactive notebooks? In today’s world, I don’t think that’s a concern. Your students are and need to be well versed in the world of technology and how to manipulate it to suit their needs. This resource will help.
