The Differentiated Instruction Guy

Teaching Experience This is my 30th year working in special education. I've been in the classroom as a teacher and as a co-teacher in a variety of subjects, including vocational education, English, social studies, and math. For the past seven or so years, I've served as a special education department administrator. Along the way I taught myself computer programming and spent a lot of time developing a computer software program that allows me to enter question and answer sets one time and generate a variety of differentiated worksheets, activities, quizzes, and tests. The result of my computer programming efforts is the Differentiated Classroom Activities Toolbox (DCAT) an invaluable resource for inclusion teachers, special educators, and other service providers. Teaching Style I like to present information in a variety of different ways. There is a lot of academic vocabulary that students must master to be successful. I provide a myriad of supplemental activities and worksheets that help students retain content and prepare for assessments. Students and parents frequently recognize and ask for activities and worksheets that I create. Personal I live in Silver Spring, Maryland, with my wife Kristin and our dog Juneau. In my free time, I like cycling, hiking, and tinkering on my 1967 MGB.
