How To Implement the Caring for Pets Packet:

While you can choose to implement this packet in a variety of ways, here is a suggested use for these materials.

You can begin with the Caring for Pets Information Sheet. This is a 2-page printable that will provide informational paragraphs broken down by age groups:

-- Ages 3 and under

-- Ages 4-5

-- Ages 6-8

-- Ages 8-11

-- Ages 12+

Allow time for multiple reads through this information sheet. This will help students as they work through the other portions of this packet. You may read this as a whole group and then have students read it again in small groups.

Following the information sheet, students can move on to the UK Pets Booklet. This is a 6-page printable that teaches students about the top 10 most popular pets in the UK. Students will complete an animal fact matching page and a pet research project.

The final portion will have students complete an extended writing prompt for how to take care of a pet.
