About This Product

Quick, easy, and engaging Jeopardy style game to practice French avoir expressions. This PowerPoint activity includes all of the bells and whistles! Your students will love playing this game with their classmates, and it will save you a lot of time when looking for just the right activity to keep your students engaged. This game is perfect for avoir expressions quiz and test review, and a list of expressions used is included in French and English (see list below).

If your students haven't learned some of the expressions, you can give them the list to review before playing or even let them keep it out during the game except when it's their turn to play. This game is editable if you would like to omit or add certain expressions. If you decide to edit, please only edit the vocabulary used and do not change around anything else or all of the functions will not work. You need PowerPoint for this game to work correctly.

Expect your students to:

  • love this game and ask for more like it

  • actively engage in translating avoir expressions

  • laugh a lot and enjoy reviewing conjugations

  • get into it like no other game they've played in a classroom setting

  • learn new avoir expressions

  • connect with and enjoy playing a game with their classmates

This Jeopardy game includes:

  • 1 powerpoint game

  • Avoir expressions list in French and English

  • 6 categories to choose from

  • 31 conjugation questions

  • double jeopardy question

  • final jeopardy question

  • music, timers, cheer sounds, boo sounds

  • detailed instructions to make the most of "Jeopardy Day"

This is a version that I’ve worked out the kinks on over many years of playing it in my French middle school and high school classrooms.

The answers don’t have to be given in the form of a question unless you want to play that way.

My students absolutely love this game. They get very excited about it and always look forward to reviewing for quizzes and tests on "Jeopardy Day".

What teachers like you are saying about this Jeopardy game:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Such a great resource and a super fun  way for students to practice French verbs while feeling like they're not actually doing work!!!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “This game is just incredible!!! So engaging yet so educational! My Grade 7s and 8s are so addicted that I will be buying/playing A LOT of these games this year! This is am amazing resource; worth every single penny!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “I played this class with my Grade 10 Academic Core French class (in Canada). We used it as a test review before a big Imparfait test. They loved it! It engaged even the most reluctant of learners, as they knew they would only be in the "hot seat" briefly. The instructions were very easy to follow and use, and the sound effects were a great touch. My French students loved it so much that they now ask me before every test if our review will be Jeopardy!”
