Heavy Work Sensory Activities

Heavy work activities provide organization for the nervous system by giving sensory input to the body that is both calming and alerting at the same time.

The following activities provide a multitude of sensory input (movement, tactile, and proprioceptive) and emphasize the use of resistance and heavy work to the body to promote organization and calm for the nervous system.

These activities are recommended for use as part of a daily school routine with consultation by an occupational therapist.
