This resource was developed to meet the requirements of the 8th Grade Expressions & Equations Standards below:

Analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.8.EE.C.8.C
Solve real-world and mathematical problems leading to two linear equations in two variables. For example, given coordinates for two pairs of points, determine whether the line through the first pair of points intersects the line through the second pair.

It contains the following resources:

1) Systems of Equations: Word Problems PARTNER PRACTICE

· Each partner will solve 6 systems of equations by setting up & solving a system of equations in different formats

· Partners have different systems to solve but should find the same answers*

2) Answer Keys to All Parts

*Matching answers are a great way to have a built-in answer key process! This saves YOU time, but primarily, it should lead to ERROR ANALYSIS when students find answers that do not match.

Optional Use: If your students need more than just 6 practice problems, print the pages front & back and have each student do all 12. The built-in answer key process will still work, but may not have as much impact as checking with a partner for a different perspective.
