Tips included in this resource of Women's History Inference Activity:

Vocabulary:

Introduce first in a whole group setting to make sure students understand the clue cards.
Post words on word wall in classroom or on the board during the lesson.
Have copies for students to refer to while completing the activity.
Introduce the words as they are read during the activity. (Ex. While reading the Harriet Tubman clue, discuss the Underground Railroad)
Randomly pass out the cards before the activity starts.
Students need to listen to when the word they have is read in a clue.
Once they hear it, they read the meaning out loud to the class.


Review with students what an inference is and how to use context clues.
