Pablo Picasso was among the most impactful artists of the 20th century. He is recognized for co-founding the Cubist movement, creating constructed sculpture, co-inventing collage, and for the diverse range of styles that he contributed to and examined. For approximately 80 of his 91 years, Picasso dedicated himself to creating art that played a crucial role in the overall progress of modern art during the 20th century, especially through the creation of Cubism (alongside artist Georges Braque) around 1907. Picasso is often regarded as THE genius of the twentieth century. Possibly more than any other artist, he transformed the course of art, initiating the modernist movement. He was an innovator of Cubism, subsequently of collage art, and eventually neo-classicism. This lesson plan centers around the artwork of Pablo Picasso. Numerous activities are provided, arranged in two worksheets. Their answers are provided in the end. Six of his most famous works are also included.
