I created this winter-themed telling time activity for young learners who are practicing how to read clocks and match daily routines with specific times. The worksheets use simple winter illustrations and clear clock faces, making it easy for students to work independently without feeling overwhelmed. This resource works especially well during the winter months when students enjoy seasonal activities that are still academically meaningful. It can be used as a warm-up, a math center, a review activity, or a quiet task for early finishers. I’ve used similar time-telling sheets with my own students, and they always enjoy seeing the winter images while practicing an important math skill. The pages are easy to print and work well in both color and black-and-white. They fit smoothly into classroom routines or can also be used at home for extra practice. How to Use: 1. Start this routine at the beginning of the year, near the end of your first math unit! 2. Go through the sample template with your students so they understand each part of it. 3. Then have your students fill in the template for their own learning in the current math unit to prepare for the upcoming test. 4. They start by filling in the unit name & chapter number. 5. You can provide the learning skills or outcomes that you have covered in the math unit, or you can ask your students to help figure them out. 6 Students then rate their knowledge from 1-5 on each skill or learning outcome. Remind students it is normal that they may be very good at some skills while needing more practice on others. 7. Next, students must come up with a simple personal plan to help practice a skill that needs more review. This will help them to take ownership of their own studying and preparation. 8. Finally, students will fill out 3 concepts or ideas that they have learned during the unit. 9.
