You Got Schooled

By day I am a high school English teacher, working with a diverse group of learners. Students of all levels need the interaction of their teacher to improve their reading, writing, and communication skills. Weaker students need their teacher to help build the foundation of their skills, while the stronger students need their teacher to challenge them and help them improve on the fine details. With a unique understanding of teenagers and people, in general, I have developed cohesive and creative lessons to teach even the most reluctant learners, especially in vocabulary-rich writing and advanced sentence patterning. My score data proves my success in the classroom, which includes a Regents State Test Mastery Score (85% or higher) for nearly 50% of my students. Regardless, my real talent has always been how well I engage students in learning and how quickly they can improve on even the most challenging writing lessons. By night, I teach online and create materials for high school English educators. Working through the platform Outschool, I have designed courses and taught students all around the world for the past 4 years. A favorite course students take is my "Hacks For Speed Reading" Course in which students use brain games to learn to read and comprehend literature better. As a founding member of Teachers Pay Teachers, I design learning materials and sell them to educators worldwide, leading to invitations from other companies, such as TeachSimple to create content for them. My creations have even found their way back to me, offered up as Curriculum Methods in in-service meetings. To their surprise, I have the original AND can teach it to them instead.
