Halloween CVC Words Build Cards

Teaching students to sound out letters in the early stages of reading is a beginning to decoding and blending of CVC words that will eventually help build reading fluency.

Included:

20 cards to practice reading CVC words and blending during Halloween time

• 2 puzzle webs/page + the corresponding spiders to build the word

• 2 types of recording sheet - with pictures to complete with specific cards or without - kids will draw and write any word they build.

Print out and laminate cards or use as one-time only printout. T

For beginner readers place the spider cards next to the corresponding web so they have the letters to build the word. 

For more advanced version, place several or all cards at the same time and all the spider letters together.
