Unit 1 Personal Health Unit 2 Growth and Development Unit 3 Nutrition and Physical Activity Unit 4 Substance Use and Abuse Unit 5 Injury/ Violence Prevention Control and Safety Unit 6 Prevention/Control of Disease Unit 7 Environmental Consumer Health These units can be taught out of order. They are only numbered for your convenience. At the end of each unit, there is an assessment to test students’ understanding. Through using this Health 2nd Grade Unit 3: Nutrition and Physical Activity students will explore and learn to identify: * Healthy foods they should and foods that they should not eat that are unhealthy for their bodies. * Physical activities beneficial to their health and suggestions of which types of activities they can do. * Consequences of being active vs inactive * Students will also learn the importance of eating a healthy balanced diet and the benefits of being physically active at school, at home, and with their friends. Unit 1 Personal Health Unit 2 Growth and Development Unit 3 Nutrition and Physical Activity Unit 4 Substance Use and Abuse Unit 5 Injury/ Violence Prevention Control and Safety Unit 6 Prevention/Control of Disease Unit 7 Environmental Consumer Health These units can be taught out of order. They are only numbered for your convenience. Through using this Kindergarten Health: Unit 3, students will explore and learn to identify daily healthy habits. Students will cut, paste, and sort healthy and unhealthy foods. Also included is a fun engaging story about an unhealthy cat who learns how to be healthy by eating the appropriate food and getting exercise. There are a total of 12 pages included in this unit for Kindergarten Health. Included in this unit: * Students will sort healthy foods by their color. Teachers will help students understand that fruits and vegetables are colorful and healthy for their bodies. * Students will cut and sort healthy foods verses unhealthy foods by pasting them into the correct column. * Students will read individually or as a group a story about an unhealthy cat who learns how to be healthy. SEL Stress Management Game-SEL Coloring Pages

In this resource, you will get an engaging game like Apples To Apples. There are 36 strategy cards and 18 situation cards. This is an SEL game. Each person takes a turn with being the judge like Apples to Apples. It is important to make enough sets for the number of groups who will be playing. for example, I recommend at least 3-5 people playing together for each group. So if there are 20 students, then create at least 5 different sets of the cards, Then follow the directions for the game below: First, everyone gets 5 strategy cards. There is no revealing the cards to other players. Then one person is chosen to be the "judge" for the first round. I usually pick the oldest person to make it fair. The judge reveals the card to all and even can read the card out loud. The the other players choose one of their strategy cards to handle that particular situation. Then the judge decides which one they would use. Important; there is not right or wrong here, just what one person would do in that situation. Next the next player goes (usually counter clockwise) to who will be the judge. The person will reveal the situation and the other players will play their strategy card. Play as long as time allows. Next, you can print off the mindfulness coloring sheets for students to color and reinforce the idea or coloring mindfully when they are upset, frustrate, need some time alone, etc. There is a way to change the word and position of the word in the mindfulness coloring sheet. Students will learn to take care of themselves as they learn about personal hygiene and the importance of how to stay clean with their bodies. They will learn about the importance of making and keeping goals and write three healthy goals and a way to accomplish these goals. Handwashing is another part of how to control disease. Students will review the importance of keeping their hands clean and how that will help them to stay healthy. In this unit, students will learn about the Coronavirus and measures on how to keep themselves and their family safe from spreadable diseases and viruses. This engaging and useful stock market project can teach your high school students all about several financial literacy topics: investing their savings, buying shares (stocks) in a company, calculating their gains and losses, investment volatility, calculating the mean, length of investment (time horizon) and more! How to Use: 1. On Day 1, have your students complete the first worksheet. They can use the included website to look at a variety of different stocks and their historical performances. They will divide up their thousand dollar investment between two different companies, and calculate how many shares the will be able to buy from each company they picked to invest in. 2. Then, schedule three separate classes over the next month or so to check on the stocks. Each time, your students will record that day's current share price and calculate their shares' current investment value. 3. On the final day, your students will calculate how much money they have gained or lost during the project. Students are shown three unique and realistic graphs Each one presents information in a biased or misleading way. With step-by-step instructions, your students will be guided through the basics: 1) Carefully reading and interpreting each graph: the axes, the scales, the data that is included 2) Noticing any biases or manipulations that may be present 3) Determining what the author probably wanted to guide them to think when reading the initial graph On the second page for each situation, students are given extra information and tasked with re-creating the graph more fairly. Blank graphs (with scales and labels) are given to students; they will use the information provided in each table to create a new graph that displays the data in an accurate way. Reflection prompt questions are also included to stimulate discussion and students explaining their ideas in words. High School Financial Literacy: How to Pick a Credit Card Worksheets

This engaging high school personal financial literacy lesson will teach your students helpful life skills, and it will let them practice using their knowledge of percentages in real life scenarios. They will learn all about credit cards: interest rates, the annual fees, credit card perks, and credit limits. How to Use: 1. Use the handout page to start the lesson with your class: teach the credit card vocabulary and information that is included. 2. Show your students the 3 sample credit cards which are listed. Let your students go over the second page while in small groups. This way they can discuss all of the benefits and drawbacks of each card. 3. Students will then calculate the perks that each credit card offers on page three. They will use percentage, decimal, and ratio & rate math skills. 4. On their own, each student can choose which one of the three credit cards they would apply for. They should use justifications from the card’s features along with their personal financial habits. 5. Students can work on the fourth page of credit card word problems for homework or in class. They will practice calculating interest payments for their credit card (if the entire balance is NOT paid off) using decimal, percent, and division math skills. 6. This lesson could be a thought-provoking discussion prompt too. Let your students talk about why credit cards can be helpful and risky based on the included scenarios. 7.
