Through using this Prevention and Control of Disease Health: 4th and 5th Grade Unit 6 students will explore and learn to identify daily healthy habits. In this unit, students will learn how to prevent illness and diseases. There is a sorting activity where students will learn basics of communicable and non-communicable diseases and decipher which category they fall under. Students will learn how to promote good health, and they will understand how to identify reliable health sources. Included in this unit, students will study the Coronavirus, its origin, how it spreads, and how to keep communities and people safe. This unit is a perfect way for students to learn about diseases and how students can be healthy and stay informed! There are 44 pages included. This unit meets Common Core Standards. Included in this Prevention and Control of Disease Health: 4th and 5th Grade Unit 6 Worksheet on what is communicable and non-communicable diseases and sorting these diseases. An understanding of pathogens and how they spread in communities. Worksheets on four ways to promote good health and prevent illnesses. Unit 1 Personal Health Unit 2 Growth and Development Unit 3 Nutrition and Physical Activity Unit 4 Substance Use and Abuse Unit 5 Injury/ Violence Prevention Control and Safety Unit 6 Prevention/Control of Disease Unit 7 Environmental Consumer Health These units can be taught out of order. They are only numbered for your convenience. Through using this Kindergarten Health: Unit 3, students will explore and learn to identify daily healthy habits. Students will cut, paste, and sort healthy and unhealthy foods. Also included is a fun engaging story about an unhealthy cat who learns how to be healthy by eating the appropriate food and getting exercise. There are a total of 12 pages included in this unit for Kindergarten Health. Included in this unit: * Students will sort healthy foods by their color. Teachers will help students understand that fruits and vegetables are colorful and healthy for their bodies. * Students will cut and sort healthy foods verses unhealthy foods by pasting them into the correct column. * Students will read individually or as a group a story about an unhealthy cat who learns how to be healthy. At the end of the story, students will identify and draw healthy foods and a physical healthy habit that is good for their bodies. There are seven units that cover all the health requirements for Kindergarten. In the unit, there is a worksheet about making healthy eating habits. What foods kids should avoid like sugary sweets, greasy foods, chips and sodas. Student will discuss the consequences of eating unhealthy foods verses eating healthy options. Lastly, there is a worksheet on the importance of sleep. How much sleep kids need at their age and why it's important to go to bed on time each night. There are 13 pages included in all. In the end, there is an assignment to test for understanding. In this SEL product, you will get SEL Flashcards for Social Emotional Learning. You will also get SEL coloring pages because there are two different pages of emotions/feelings. Both pages have a black and white version and a color version. The black and white version allows your students to color their own faces and images. The emotions listed are; happy, sad, silly, proud, shy confused, scared, excited, angry, tired, loving, sick, disgusted, cry, jealous, disappointed. These flashcards can be used for so many purposes. I have used these flashcards for Go Fish games where the students have to ask for a certain feeling. You will need to make two copies of the colored emotions poster to make this game work. If a student asks for "angry" and the student they asked has it, that student give the card to the one who asked and that student places the match down on the table and names a time they felt angry. I have also used this resource for memory games. You would, again, make two copies of each emotion. Then you would mix up the cards and place them face down (I would highly recommend cardstock) in a random order. Students then would choose two cards and reveal the emotion cards. If they are a match, then the student can share when they have felt that way. If it is not a match, they would place the cards face down again the the next student would take a turn. This is a fun and interactive game but also helps students discuss their feelings in a non-threatening way. This resource can be used as a whole class activity where students color their flashcards and then cut them out. They can randomly pick a card and name a time they felt that way. High School Financial Literacy: How to Pick a Credit Card Worksheets

This engaging high school personal financial literacy lesson will teach your students helpful life skills, and it will let them practice using their knowledge of percentages in real life scenarios. They will learn all about credit cards: interest rates, the annual fees, credit card perks, and credit limits. How to Use: 1. Use the handout page to start the lesson with your class: teach the credit card vocabulary and information that is included. 2. Show your students the 3 sample credit cards which are listed. Let your students go over the second page while in small groups. This way they can discuss all of the benefits and drawbacks of each card. 3. Students will then calculate the perks that each credit card offers on page three. They will use percentage, decimal, and ratio & rate math skills. 4. On their own, each student can choose which one of the three credit cards they would apply for. They should use justifications from the card’s features along with their personal financial habits. 5. Students can work on the fourth page of credit card word problems for homework or in class. They will practice calculating interest payments for their credit card (if the entire balance is NOT paid off) using decimal, percent, and division math skills. 6. This lesson could be a thought-provoking discussion prompt too. Let your students talk about why credit cards can be helpful and risky based on the included scenarios. 7. A complete Answer Key is included to make marking easy. For Kindergarten Health there are seven standards that need to be taught to achieve healthy habits! Unit 1 Personal Health Unit 2 Growth and Development Unit 3 Nutrition and Physical Activity Unit 4 Substance Use and Abuse Unit 5 Injury/ Violence Prevention Control and Safety Unit 6 Prevention/Control of Disease Unit 7 Environmental Consumer Health These units can be taught out of order. They are only numbered for your convenience. Through using this Kindergarten Health: Unit 4, students will explore and learn to identify daily healthy habits. Included in this unit : * Students will identify what is safe or unsafe in a household, which includes medications, cleaning supplies, and household appliances. * Students will cut, sort, and paste these harmful or safe substances into categories. * Understanding who can and who cannot give you medications is another thing that students will learn. * Teachers will help students to role play situations that may be unsafe and how to handle these situations and learn how to say no. Students will identify safe and unsafe substances in a household and learn who can give them medication. Furthermore, there are activities to help kids learn how to just say no in difficult situations. There are a total of 9 pages included in this unit for Kindergarten Health. There are seven units that cover all the health requirements for Kindergarten.
