About this resource
Use these number charts to practice skip counting by fives to 100 or 120. Children say the sequence and highlight the corresponding numbers, then describe the pattern.
Two PDFs contain twelve pages across three styles. Each range and style has an unhighlighted numbered chart and a completed highlighted reference. Colour and black-and-white designs are included.
Choose a range for whole-class, small-group or individual practice. The activity supports the skip-counting-by-fives component of 2.NBT.A.2; it does not provide practice to 1,000 or all of the standard’s counting sequences.

Teaching tips & learning objectives
Learning objectives
Skip count by 5s to 100 and to 120, identifying each number landed on.
Recognise the number pattern that skip counting by 5s creates across a chart grid.
Teaching tips
Have students count aloud by 5s together before highlighting, since the instruction line repeats identically on every page.
Use the 100-chart pages first, then move to the 120-chart pages once the pattern is established.
Skills covered
Skip counting by 5s — students identify and highlight every fifth number up to 100 or 120.
Number pattern recognition — students see the visual pattern skip counting by 5s creates across a chart grid.
