About this resource
Invite students to turn an environmental message into an Earth Day T-shirt design. Planning questions guide them to select a message, develop a slogan and consider the images or other design elements that will communicate it. Use the planning work as the starting point for a discussion of how words and visuals work together; producing a physical shirt would be a separate extension.
Curriculum reference — Ontario: Writing a slogan and planning a message supports short purposeful writing; the environmental topic alone does not establish a science expectation. Selected skills only; reference stage is not an overall reading age, complete curriculum coverage, or an automatic recommendation for every learner.
