National Honesty Day word search puzzle worksheet activity

The puzzle presents a dense field of letters and a bank centered on honesty-related concepts. Learners search for words involving trust, fairness, ethics, values, and good conduct, then can compare how those ideas overlap or differ. A second page provides the completed reference for the search. The resource does not prescribe a behaviour program; it offers a vocabulary starting point for a broader discussion about truthful and responsible choices.

National Honesty Day word search puzzle worksheet activity

National Honesty Day Word Search - A Classroom Favourite!

I made this word search last year for my 5th graders to celebrate National Honesty Day on April 30th. It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 honesty-related words hidden in all directions - words we actually use in class like "truth," "integrity," and "trustworthy."

The puzzle includes:
• Everyday terms kids know ("promise")
• Character ed vocabulary ("accountable")
• A few challenge words ("transparency")

I printed these on yellow paper - my students said it reminded them of "honesty stars" - and we used them:

  • As morning work on Honesty Day

  • During our character education unit

  • As a discussion starter about trust

Page 1 has the word search with a clean layout. Page 2 is just the answer key - no frills, just what busy teachers need. The kids loved racing to find all the words before recess!

Some words spark great talks. Last year, "confess" led to an honest discussion about admitting mistakes - way better than I planned!

Format: Basic 2-page PDF
Teacher Tip: Have students put a star by the honesty trait they want to work on!
