Teaching tips & learning objectives
Learning objectives
Trace and form the numerals for even numbers 2 through 20 and odd numbers 1 through 19.
Identify odd and even numbers within a 1-20 grid by circling them.
Classify a group of counted objects as odd or even and record the label in writing.
Teaching tips
Have students count the dots aloud before writing 'Odd' or 'Even,' pairing the visual grouping with the number concept.
Use the two circling pages as a quick partner check — one student circles odds while the other verifies against the traced number row.
Introduce the pattern of alternating odd/even numbers using the traced rows before moving to the sorting pages.
Skills covered
Numeral tracing — students trace printed even numbers (2-20) and odd numbers (1-19) to practice numeral formation.
Odd/even identification — students circle only the odd or only the even numbers within a 1-20 number grid.
Quantity classification — students count a group of dots and write 'Odd' or 'Even' to label the total.
