Palm Sunday word search puzzle worksheet activity

The student page asks learners to locate a substantial list of religious and event-related terms inside a dense grid. The selected vocabulary connects the Palm Sunday procession with branches, crowds, disciples, prayer, worship, peace, and later Christian observances. A second page provides the completed reference for checking the search. The authored fields describe the categories and puzzle structure without repeating the full term bank or showing any marked locations.

Palm Sunday word search puzzle worksheet activity

Palm Sunday Word Search - A Meaningful Classroom Activity

I made this word search for my Sunday school class last year when we were preparing for Holy Week. It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 terms related to Palm Sunday that help kids remember the Bible story while having fun.

The words include story elements like "donkey," "hosanna," and "Jerusalem" along with church terms like "procession" and "palm branches." I printed them on light green paper to match the palm theme, and the children worked on them while we talked about Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.

You'll find:
• Page 1: The word search grid with words going all directions
• Page 2: An answer key that's easy to read

I use this when:

  • Teaching about Holy Week

  • Needing a quiet activity after the Palm Sunday story

  • Preparing children for church services

The words come straight from our Bible lessons - "crowds," "cloaks," "praises" - not complicated theological terms. Last year, my students especially loved finding "colt" after we'd acted out the story.

Format: Basic PDF (2 pages)
Tip: Have children circle their favourite word from the story to discuss!
