About this resource
Build synonym pairs by matching words with similar meanings. Students choose from a word bank to complete the unfinished pairs, then use the labelled checking page to review their answers. Discuss how the words are alike in meaning, while recognizing that a pair may not fit every sentence in exactly the same way.
Curriculum reference — Ontario: Matching meanings is a selected Ontario Grade 2 vocabulary connection. Selected skills only; reference stage is not an overall reading age, complete curriculum coverage, or an automatic recommendation for every learner.
