About this resource
Introduce plant-needs vocabulary through a page that asks children to connect picture cards with matching words. Read the labels together before students test their choices and glue the pieces in place. Teachers can prepare the cut pieces for learners who need scissor support, allowing the session to focus on naming and matching what a plant needs.
Curriculum reference — Ontario: Check the listed needs against each framework; a picture match does not cover an investigation. Plant basic needs form a subset of Ontario Grade1 living-thing needs. Basic needs matching supports Year2 plant needs; a matching page is not a growth investigation. Selected skills only; reference stage is not an overall reading age, complete curriculum coverage, or an automatic recommendation for every learner.
