Stories are a great way to teach children important social skills that they may be struggling with. Social Skills Stories & Activities use explicit language to break down information into small, manageable steps, so that children can more easily understand what they should and should not do in a particular social situation, and why. So many of my students pick their noses in front of others. This can make other students not want to be around that them, or not want to share materials with them. I wrote this story to try to help my students better understand why they shouldn't pick their nose in front of others.

Sight Word Fluency Packet - answer

These sight word worksheets encourage all students to practice sight word reading fluency for the target sight word. There are three different fluency practice pages that all focus on learning to recognize, spell, and read the target sight word in context. Allowing students to practice the sight word in context gives students the ability to connect the sight word's meaning and grammatical usage to help gain a greater understanding of the target word. Each passage repeats the target word multiple times for extra practice with the word. Students will practice reading, writing, reading comprehension, and spelling high frequency words with these fluency pages. Included in this sight word fluency packet: * One reading fluency page that contains a single passage for students to read and find the sight word. * One write and read fluency page where students will write the target sight word and then read the passage. * One read, write, and draw fluency page where students will read a sentence, copy the sentence then draw a picture to illustrate the sentence. When you are introducing new styles of writing to your students, you want to ensure you find quality writing resources to support their learning. This is an Opinion Writing Packet that uses the TREE Format. The TREE format consists of the following acronym: Topic - What opinion are you going to share? Reason - Why is this your opinion? (The students will give three reasons) Example - Support each reason with a personal example. End - Sum it up with an ending statement. This is great for 2nd – 4th grade students. Included in this file you will find 5 opinion paragraph writing workshops along with some blank templates so you can choose your own topics. Students will opine about holidays, food, music, movies, and pets. Ideas for introducing the workshops: • Make lists of possible holidays, foods, music, movies, and pets to give the kids ideas • Show pictures and/or play music related to each topic to get the kids thinking about what their opinions might be • Allow students time to discuss their opinions with their classmates. This really gets their brains thinking specifically about their opinions and reasons for their opinions • Share ideas as a class about possible opinions. Some students struggle to come up with their own ideas, and this might help guide them to their own opinions These workshops are 1-2 day projects – about 60-70 minutes total, depending on how much practice your students already have with writing opinions and how you decide to introduce the topics. Recognising and identifying even and odd numbers is one of the most fundamental ways to start exploring patterns in numbers. Starting with counting and pairing objects, it moves to recognising even and odd numbers by simply looking at the last (unit) digit in a number, whatever digits come before it, and whatever the size of the number. Worksheets Set 1 Each of the 9 questions on the worksheets contains up to 14 objects. There are 2 arrangements of the objects which you can choose from: -objects arranged neatly in columns -objects spread out randomly The purpose here is to practice counting in pairs to help determine whether the number of objects are even or odd. By clicking a button at the bottom of the page , the bundle of objects are randomly rearranged on the page, so you can create more worksheets if needed. Worksheets Set 2 Pupils use this worksheet to recognise which numbers are even or odd numbers by simply looking at the last digit.
