Throughout these pages you’ll find opportunities for your learners in Pre-K/TK, kindergarten, and grade 1 to practice letter identification and phonemic awareness, specifically with final consonant sounds. All of this, coupled with a fun Winter theme makes this a truly engaging learning experience. When you purchase this product, you will have a set of 16 flash cards with both pictures and word labels. The pictures relate to words focusing on Winter holidays such as Christmas, MLK Day, Groundhogs Day, and Presidents Day. In addition, themed Winter words are also included. Following the set of flash cards are 7 worksheets with concepts in uppercase and lowercase letter identification and writing, identifying and distinguishing between ending sounds, and vocabulary building. Learners will also practice fine motor skills with writing, cutting, and gluing. When they move on to play the first of two hands-on learning games, they’ll also strengthen their fine motor skills by manipulating clothes pins or plastic letter tiles. The second learning game will build confidence in letter and sound recognition. Finally, a learning activity for the whole class is included in a Power Point format. In it, learners will journey through Winter themed words and letter sounds with Rudy the reindeer. All 25 slides are presented in full color. The two hands-on learning games are available in both a color format, as well as a black & white format. Most of the worksheets are also available in both formats, with the exception of one that is only formatted in black & white. ENDING SOUNDS Fall/Autumn Worksheets and Learning Activities

Are you looking to add to your Fall/Autumn ELA curriculum? If so, this is the product for you. Your Pre-K and Kindergarten learners will enjoy this set of worksheets and learning games as they strengthen their ELA skills. Beginning with a set of flash cards, they’ll build vocabulary with Fall/Autum words such as pumpkin, squirrel, acorn, leaf, and sweater. Next, they’ll move on to complete 7 worksheets that focus on ending sounds . Within the worksheets they will identify uppercase and lowercase letters, match pictures to the letter with the corresponding ending sound, color Fall/Autumn icons, write uppercase and lowercase letters that match the ending sounds of pictures, and practice cutting and gluing skills. Along with the worksheets, there are 3 learning activities. In the first activity , your learners will use a letter tile or clothespin to complete the Fall/Autumn vocabulary word with its appropriate ending sound. There is a second activity where learners will match vocabulary picture cards with their “ending sound” partner letter. Lastly, learners will have a great time with Tom Turkey as they play a fun “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” game with Power Point slides. The object of the activity is for learners to identify the ending sounds of the vocabulary pictures and determine if they match the lowercase letter paired with the picture. All 7 worksheets are Print and Go . They are also available in a color version, as well as a black and white version. Two of the learning activities are also available in both versions. The Power Point learning activity is available in color only. Additionally, an answer key for the worksheets is included. Take a moment to look at the details of each worksheet and learning activity below. PAGES 1-3: Learners will use these flashcards (picture and word) to build thematic vocabulary skills. PAGE 4: Learners will look at 6 Fall-themed pictures and circle the lowercase letter that matches the ending sound of the picture. PAGE 5: Learners will draw a line to match 6 Fall-themed vocabulary pictures with the corresponding lowercase letter that matches the ending sound of the picture. PAGE 6: Learners will look at 6 Fall-themed pictures, as well as a lowercase letter. They will determine if the letter matches the beginning sound of the picture and color either the “thumbs-up” or “thumbs-down” icon. PAGE 7: Learners will cut and glue 8 lowercase letters under the matching Fall-themed vocabulary picture to show the ending sound of each picture. Learning how to read can be the most challenging activity for many students and for a teacher. A digraph in the English language are two letters put together that represents a single sound or phoneme. Understanding that the combination of letters can make one sound can be difficult to master and requires repetitive practice of reading and writing these words with these sounds. This unit focuses only on the Ending Digraph sounds. There are other phonics units that I sell that focuses on the Beginning Digraph sounds, and one that focuses on all three digraph sounds in the Beginning, Middle and End. Reading can be made easier with these phonic helps that repeatedly encourage students to practice these Ending Digraph sounds. Activities include reading comprehension and identifying the digraphs in their reading, writing their answers to questions regarding the paragraph, identifying additional ending digraph words in sentences using a word bank, matching words with pictures, spinning a paperclip activity where students will write the word with the digraph sound, and lastly a fun wordsearch with the ending digraph words. These activities are for each digraph so there is plenty of opportunities for students to practice their comprehension reading skills and phonic sounds. Students will practice the following Ending Digraph sounds: ck, ng, sh, th, and nk. Teachers can use this resource in whole group, individually with students, students can practice with each other in centers, or they can be assigned as homework. Worksheets are also differentiated for each Ending Digraph sound for all young learners which makes it perfect for all 1st - 2nd graders. A total of 33 pages full of reading and phonic activities. Along with reading and writing, there are matching, cutting, and pasting activities. Word searches and spin and make a word activity are also a part of this packet which make learning to read these phonic sounds entertaining for young learners.
