Introduction

This unit of work can be used by schools to teach students about Articial Intelligence

Objective

At the end of the unit students should have a clear understanding of:

• What is Artificial Intelligence

• Its implications for schools and the work place

• Its implications for society - both positive and negative.

Order, Outline and Steps

Unit 1 - What is AI - This unit starts by looking at the beginnings of AI use particularly in the twentieth century followed by how it has developed. Some of the Jargon is examined and explained.

Unit 2 - Use of AI at Work and its use in Schools - What are the changes that will occur in the work place and schools?

Unit 3 - The Opportunities and Challenges of AI for society. - How will society adapt and change for the world of AI.

Grades or Ages - Can be used from Grade 8 to Grade 11.

Implementation Format

You will get two presentations - The teacher presentation contains all the teaching slides, the checkpoints and the activities, whereas the student presentation only includes the teaching slides and checkpoint questions.
