Building Words that Rhyme - Time to Rhyme

Students expand their knowledge of rimes with this resource. Some words may have the same ending sound, but be spelled in different ways. Students will explore these word families by matching onset and rime tiles. Then, they will blend the sounds together. Onsets begin words or syllables. They can be single consonants, blends or digraphs. Rimes are the vowels. This method allows students to break down words into parts to better sound them out. This allows them to cement these words into their vocabulary.
