About this resource

What's inside this resource

Canadian symbols, provinces and territories, wildlife, and coins fill forty different bingo cards in this printable game, each paired with matching call cards a caller draws and reads aloud. Items include beaver, maple leaf, loonie, toonie, Niagara Falls, totem pole, and every Canadian province and territory, giving the deck enough variety that no two of the forty cards are alike. The instructions describe eight selectable winning patterns — three line variants, two T-shapes, two U-shapes, and a squares pattern — so the same set of cards can be replayed with a different target shape each round. Students mark called items with a dabber, stamp, or small token as the caller reveals cards one at a time, and the first to complete the chosen pattern calls out "Bingo!" to win.

Teaching tips & learning objectives

Learning objectives

  • Students will recognize Canadian provinces, territories, wildlife, landmarks, and coins by name and image.

  • Students will practice visual scanning and matching by locating called items on their own bingo card.

Teaching tips

  • Cut apart the call sheet cards and place them in a hat or bowl before play, as the instructions describe.

  • Choose a different one of the eight winning patterns each round to extend replay value with the same 40 cards.

  • Preview the vocabulary (province names, wildlife, landmarks) with students before playing so the game reinforces rather than introduces the terms.

Skills covered

  • Canadian geography recognition — students match named provinces, territories, and landmarks such as Niagara Falls and Prince Edward Island to their bingo squares.

  • Cultural vocabulary recall — students identify Canadian symbols like the maple leaf, loonie, toonie, and Mountie during play.

  • Pattern-based game strategy — students track progress toward one of eight different winning shapes (lines, T's, U's, squares) across rounds.
