Flash Cards: Valentine's Day
About This Product
About 27 different flashcards all about Valentine's Day!
I have been working with picture cards for many years, because they are wonderful for expanding vocabulary, for phonetic exercises or for a creative and playful use of language.
When working in foreign or contemporary language teaching, they facilitate the understanding of the term or concept through visual input.
Picture cards can also be used to teach grammatical patterns, time sequences or lexical contexts.
Here are some ideas for use in class:
- Speaking and listening to train phonetics
- Copy the learning words from the picture card
- Dictation by the teacher, partner dictation, running dictation with subsequent self-control at the blackboard or in groups
- Stop & Swap: Learners walk through the room with their picture card, present the card to a partner and swap cards until each learner has seen and said the word on the card at least once.
This exercise can be extended at higher learning levels, for example by adding a description, an association, the opposite or other features of the given word on the card
- Sorting the picture cards according to certain characteristics
- Using the picture cards as a basis for speaking and writing (for example expressing likes or dislikes, talking about hobbies and interests, exchanging experiences, using picture cards as a writing impulse...)
- Pantomime - games (acting the meaning of a picture card by facial expressions and gestures and guessing the word)
