The curricula analyzed within this PDF have been organized according to developmental progression from Pre-K to 2nd Grade, 3rd to 5th Grade, Middle School/6th to 8th grade, and High School/9th to 12th grade and beyond. Pre-K to 2nd Grade: The focus on early childhood developmentally appropriate foundational learning skills which includes the topics of use of environmental prosthetics, somatic awareness (awareness of the body), impulse inhibition, and developing an ability to co-regulate (worksheets 1 - 2). This would be appropriate for a 4 to 8-year-old child who is either autistic or has ADHD and experiences difficulty with sensory predictability or emotional regulation. 3rd to 5th Grade: Students at this grade level should be practicing the skills of upper elementary school co-regulated navigation, working memory expansion, and task initiation (worksheets 3 - 4). This would be appropriate for any student who displays signs of experiencing transitional anxiety or experiencing a working memory bottleneck. Middle School/ 6th to 8th Grades: The students in this age group should be able to internalize their tooling, develop cognitive flexibility, and work on their organizational systems (worksheets 5 - 6). This would apply to an adolescent who would display signs of experiencing difficulties with social hierarchies or temporal discounting due to their ADHD or AuDHD profile. High School/ 9th to 12th and Transition to Adulthood: Students should be developing their metacognitive self-advocacy skills, time management skills, goal persistence, vocational navigation skills, and independence (worksheets 7 - 10). This would apply to any teen or young adult who is preparing to enter college, work, or request the need for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act due to severe executive dysfunction. This curriculum can be used in a variety of settings including: special education classes, home schooling, therapy sessions, implementation of an IEP, or within an inclusive classroom setting, ages 4-20+. This is a Phonic spelling programme. Not only will it teach a child to spell, but also to write. Just add a good handwriting programme. The spelling programme can be used with all ages from 5 to 99, however, if used with a young learner I strongly advise using the programme to teach both reading and spelling at the same time. The spelling programme can be used: with children who have learnt to read, but need a spelling/writing programme with children who have tried another phonic programme and not made much progress with reading and/or spelling/writing with a special needs child who needs a very structured approach to learning by home educators by parents wishing to help their child at home About the programme The programme is very flexible and can be made to fit the child, rather than the child to fit the programme. Being highly structured, each new lesson builds on the one before, constantly revising the previously taught material The spelling programme will take 41 weeks to teach. One new sound is taught each week. What is included? The teacher's manual with full lesson plans and helpful teaching tips A list of the keywords for each lesson with the phonic sound highlighted - for practice and revision 39 spelling worksheets The Reading Made Simple Phonic flashcards The Odd Word flashcards About the worksheets The worksheets use time-honoured exercises to help pupils to become familiar with the new sound and revise previously taught ones. I created this activities pack because so many kids like dinosaurs, and learning the alphabet is such a foundational skill, sometimes one that isn't learned easily by kids. Teach your pre=readers and reinforce struggling readers learning the alphabet with bright colors and fun dinosaur pictures. Each letter of the alphabet is on a separate page to color as shown in the preview. There are 26 different Bible verses that students can trace and learn and even memorize. And 26 different flashcards with each letter of the alphabet on a separate card, the alphabet in the flashcards is a dinosaur font and can be colored in. Most of the products I create are designed for multiple ages in mind. For example, this product contains simple super large letters of the alphabet that can be colored in even by a toddler who can hold a crayon. Also, this product also contains 16 different dinosaur outlines that can be traced and/or colored. Each is on a separate page and includes the name of the particular dinosaur. Dinosaurs have long names, so these pages can be used to familiarize children with different dinosaurs and even be used for a spelling test where your students have to be able to correctly spell the dinosaurs. Or they could be asked to alphabetize the dinosaur sheets in order. Also included in this awesome dinosaur and alphabet activity pack is 16 different dinosaur outlines to color (one on each page) with the name of the dinosaur spelled out in a font that can be colored in. Dinosaurs included: Acanthopholis Ankylosaurus Dilophosaurus Diplodocus Gallimimus Iguanodon Ouranosaurus Parasaurolophus Pteranodon Saurolophus Stegosaurus Styracosaurus Triceratops Tyrannosaurus Rex Valdosaurus Velociraptor As you can see, the dinosaur names are challenging even for the best spellers, including me! Even though there are no specific questions regarding these dinosaurs in this product, you could assign specific dinosaurs to your older students, to look up and research and write an essay.

What makes this phonics reading programme for special needs different? · It has its own, easy-to-download and print phonics reading books, making it accessible to many children worldwide. · Each book carefully builds on the vocabulary of those that have gone before, providing much repetition, without relying on predictable text. · Pictures aid the storyline without encouraging reading from the pictures – i.e. guessing. · The vocabulary is based on phonics families, which are introduced in a carefully planned way. · True sight words – those that cannot be sounded out - are kept to a minimum. Most words are introduced in their phonic family wherever possible. · It is truly multisensory, using the power of the hand. We not only look at the words, but we write them too. This is powerful and has the bonus of turning the child not only into a reader but into a writer as well. Typical signs that this programme can help: Those with dyslexia, or suspected of having dyslexia Difficulty recalling words when seen on flashcards or when reading texts, which results in no or little reading fluency b/d letter reversal of a chronic nature – i.e. the child has not grown out of it Difficulty ordering letters in words: E.g. top becomes pot.
