These Flash Cards can be used to help students recognize the elements from the periodic table. About this Resource: This resource includes all 118 elements from the Periodic Table of Elements in a Flash Cards format. Each card shows the element name, symbol, atomic number, and atomic mass. Teachers can cut out each flash card for easy use with their students. An extra sheet of blank flash cards is also provided. Once students have mastered the flash cards, they can then enjoy a fill-in-the-blank activity. The element cards are also included as separate fill-in-the-blank cards. They make up everything in earth, and the universe. The Periodic Table organizes these elements in order of their atomic number. The atomic number denotes the number of protons in the atom. It is unique to each element, like a fingerprint. The table further organizes the elements into rows and columns. The rows are called “periods”. The elements in the same row have the same number of electron shells. For example, elements in row/period 1 have 1 electron shell. The columns are called “groups”. The elements in the same column have the same number of electrons in their outermost shell. For example, elements in column/group 1 have 1 electron in their outermost shell. In 1869, chemist Dmitri Mendeleev developed the Periodic Table. He organized the elements based on their similar physical and chemical properties. The table shows the element’s name, its symbol, the atomic number in the upper left corner, and the atomic mass in the bottom left corner. The atomic number gives the number of protons in the element’s atom. The atomic mass gives the average number of protons and neutrons in the element’s atom. By knowing the location of an element on the Periodic Table, you can determine the number of protons, neutrons and electrons that are contained in its atom.

This is a PowerPoint featuring Multiplication Flashcards for the 4 Times Table Number Facts and their related division sums. The flashcards can be used in order or shuffled to add an extra challenge. In addition, facts answered incorrectly can be moved and presented again at the end. If the teacher prepares the PowerPoint before the lesson, then the facts that are being worked on can be placed first. A quiz can be set up and timed to help children become proficient at the 4 X multiplication and division facts. A 'Ready, Steady, Go' slide helps to make the quiz more fun. This is a Phonic spelling programme. Not only will it teach a child to spell, but also to write. Just add a good handwriting programme. The spelling programme can be used with all ages from 5 to 99, however, if used with a young learner I strongly advise using the programme to teach both reading and spelling at the same time. See the website for more information and resources to teach young children. The spelling programme can be used: with children who have learnt to read, but need a spelling/writing programme with children who have tried another phonic programme and not made much progress with reading and/or spelling/writing with a special needs child who needs a very structured approach to learning by home educators by parents wishing to help their child at home About the programme The programme is very flexible and can be made to fit the child, rather than the child to fit the programme. Being highly structured, each new lesson builds on the one before, constantly revising the previously taught material The spelling programme will take 41 weeks to teach. One new sound is taught each week. What is included? With the arrow keys, you just move from one word to another to make your students familiar with them. Next, You can hand out the vocabulary lists. Beware that these are made with color, so in order to be eco-friendly you might want to use black and white ink. Once the students have taken these lists home, they can do the vocabulary test in their next class. They can practice with the words by utilizing the included flash cards. These just need to be printed, laminated, and cut. Beware of sharp edges though. You can use the curved edges version to avoid annoying pinches. Finally, use the Wacky Words activity to have a really good time in class. With this, all the letters are mixed up. Students love this.
