Introduce or review many different contractions with these contractions read and reveal cards. Contractions are created when two words are made into one word. The missing letters are replaced with an apostrophe. Since most contractions follow the same pattern of letter elimination, these flash cards help students to get a lot of practice writing and breaking apart contractions. What is Included: There are two pages that explain how to make the flash cards and how to use the cards. There are 24 read and reveal flash cards for identifying the contraction made with the two words. There are 24 read and reveal flash cards for breaking apart a contraction into the two words that it comes from. There are two recording pages for students to write down the words and contractions they form based on the flash cards that are chosen. How to Use: Students will choose one cards and either identify the words that created the contraction or create a contraction from the words provided. Students will write the words on the recording pages and their answers. Students will then open the card to see if they correctly performed the task., and mark on the recording page whether they got the contraction correct or incorrect. When to Use: Literacy Center - Students can work on these read and reveal cards in a center alone or with a partner. Independent Practice - Students can work alone with these cards to learn about different contractions. Small Group Activity - Students who need extra practice with contractions can be pulled into small groups to complete this task. These read and reveal flash cards do require some prep to make. The cards should be printed, preferably on card stock. Next, the cards will need to be folded based on the instructions included. The recording pages require no prep to get ready for students. The recording pages can be made reusable by laminating.

This is a PowerPoint featuring Multiplication Flashcards for the 3 Times Table Number Facts and their related division sums. The flashcards can be used in order or shuffled to add an extra challenge. In addition, facts answered incorrectly can be moved and presented again at the end. If the teacher prepares the PowerPoint before the lesson, then the facts that are being worked on can be placed first. A quiz can be set up and timed to help children become proficient at the 3 X multiplication and division facts. A 'Ready, Steady, Go' slide helps to make the quiz more fun. A hundred square is included so that pupils can create the 3 X pattern. This can be used again and again. Students can then skip count in unison as the chart is created. This A-E Digraph decodable reading book + matching PowerPoint and worksheets for guided reading is one of a series that can help children with special needs develop reading fluency. Each book has a matching PowerPoint, making it suitable for various settings. This book tells the story of Caligula's attempt to conquer Britain. The Jack Stories, of which this book is one, introduce one phonics sound at a time, and subsequent books build on the vocabulary of the books before, constantly revising and reviewing learned sounds. Irregular sight words are only slowly and gradually introduced. Science of reading aligned. Based on the most up-to-date phonics research. What is included? The series of books can also be purchased as a growing bundle with a scope and sequence - one file, less clutter! This series has been written with the aid of one of my pupils, aged 8. He has drawn some of the pictures. What makes this phonics reading programme for special needs different? · It has its own, easy-to-download and print phonics reading books, making it accessible to many children worldwide. · Each book carefully builds on the vocabulary of those that have gone before, providing much repetition, without relying on predictable text. · Pictures aid the storyline without encouraging reading from the pictures – i.e. guessing. · The vocabulary is based on phonics families, which are introduced in a carefully planned way. · True sight words – those that cannot be sounded out - are kept to a minimum. Most words are introduced in their phonic family wherever possible. · It is truly multisensory, using the power of the hand. We not only look at the words, but we write them too. This is powerful and has the bonus of turning the child not only into a reader but into a writer as well. Typical signs that this programme can help: Those with dyslexia, or suspected of having dyslexia Difficulty recalling words when seen on flashcards or when reading texts, which results in no or little reading fluency b/d letter reversal of a chronic nature – i.e. the child has not grown out of it Difficulty ordering letters in words: E.g. top becomes pot. Difficulty differentiating between like words: spoon/soon; back/black; sheep/sleep etc… Difficulty tracking words across a page How long is the book? The reading book is 16 pages long.

With repeated practice, students will learn to associate words with their spelling. About The Periodic Table of Elements: The elements are the building blocks of matter. They make up everything in earth, and the universe. The Periodic Table organizes these elements in order of their atomic number. The atomic number denotes the number of protons in the atom. It is unique to each element, like a fingerprint. The table further organizes the elements into rows and columns. The rows are called “periods”. The elements in the same row have the same number of electron shells. For example, elements in row/period 1 have 1 electron shell. The columns are called “groups”. The elements in the same column have the same number of electrons in their outermost shell. For example, elements in column/group 1 have 1 electron in their outermost shell. In 1869, chemist Dmitri Mendeleev developed the Periodic Table. He organized the elements based on their similar physical and chemical properties. The table shows the element’s name, its symbol, the atomic number in the upper left corner, and the atomic mass in the bottom left corner. The atomic number gives the number of protons in the element’s atom. The atomic mass gives the average number of protons and neutrons in the element’s atom. By knowing the location of an element on the Periodic Table, you can determine the number of protons, neutrons and electrons that are contained in its atom.
