French- Wheel Puzzles- Valentine's Day

Your students will be able to practice the French vocabulary on Valentine's Day: La Saint-Valentin with these wheel puzzles.

This activity can be used as a whole class, in groups, pairs or individually.

What is included:

• 6 wheels: There are 3 levels of difficulty (level of difficulty increases with the number of keywords included in the wheel: 8, 12 or 24). For each level of difficulty, there are 2 versions (French to picture or French to English). This variety gives you the possibility to choose the most appropriate wheel according to your students' ability.

• solutions/ answers: a table version of the wheels are included.

• a vocabulary list: for students' reference.

• a list of possible activities that can be done using the wheels.

Instruction:

Each wheel label includes a French word/expression, as well as an English word/ expression (or a picture) which do not match. Students will need to find and align the French to its equivalent (from another label) in order to complete the vocabulary wheel.

Advice:

Print the pdf files as one-sided, then cut the labels out (+ laminate to last longer).

Example of other uses:

In addition to the straightforward matching activity, you can get your students to practice their speaking skills and pronunciation by using the labels in a "I have..., who has...?" vocabulary chain activity.
