About This Product

GRANDPARENTS DAY Word Search Puzzle Worksheet Activity

Welcome to Grandparents Day and to our fun word search puzzle worksheet! Designed for students in 3rd through 6th grade, this is a fun way to celebrate the Important part that grandparents play in our lives, while working on vocabulary and spelling skills. Whether in the classroom or at home, encourage students to think about grandparent and family connections in terms of memorable love and wisdom shared and passed from generations.

The word search includes words associated with Grandparents Day and ask students to think back to their experiences with grandparents and what the value of family or being together means. Enjoy the whole activity as learners talk about who their grandparents were, and the value of being respectful of elders. This word search is another great activity to add to writing lessons related to family and relationships.

The 30 hidden vocabulary words are: Grandparents, Love, Family, Wisdom, Stories, Memories, Care, Fun, Hugs, Support, Respect, Tradition, Generations, Celebration, Kindness, Bond, Joy, Laughter, Teach, Share, Respect, Together, Gifts, Heart, Home, Friendship, Support, Special, Activities, Time, and Legacy.

Students will enjoy the challenge of looking for 30 words hid in various directions (across, upside down, and diagonal). This word search can be solved individually or in pairs, and will help the students discuss with classmates while working, and allow them to compare their ideas while doing the lesson together, "how many did you find?".

All experiences are valuable and some students may have different learning styles, therefore, we added two versions of the word search puzzle. The included illustrations are fun, colorful, and represent what family looks like, while black and white outlines allows for the kids to map out their designs to strengthen creativity.
