Idioms Worksheet and Activity Set 1

This product includes a simple idiom worksheet for students to review common idioms. They will need to match the idiom to its meaning.

Then, there is an idiom activity that can help make sure students understand the meaning of idioms. There is one page provided with the idiom "piece of cake" Students will draw pictures to show the literal and figurative meaning of the idiom. They then write the idiom's meaning on the bottom. There is a second sheet that does not list a specific idiom. You could have them complete several and create a book.

An answer key is provided.

This product is meant to be a review of idioms. Students should already know the difference between literal and figurative. They also should have already been exposed to several idioms. This is a great review, and it could also be used as a quick assessment.

This would be a great product for 3rd and 4th graders.

You will receive a pdf with 3 pages. One page is a worksheet where students match each idiom to its meaning. The second part includes 2 pages. For this activity students draw pictures to show both the literal and figurative meaning of the words, as well as explain what the idiom means.
