If I Were a Police Officer - Writing Prompt

Get ready for flashing lights, sirens, and a whole lot of imagination! The If I Were a Police Officer writing and drawing activity invites K–2 students to put on their pretend badges and imagine a day in the life of a community helper with some serious superhero vibes.

Students will write about what kind of police officer they’d be, traffic cop, detective, bicycle patrol, or maybe even K9 handler (because who doesn’t want a police puppy?). They’ll describe how they’d help others, keep the community safe, and what tools they’d use on the job. Then comes the artistic twist: they’ll draw themselves in action! Expect sunglasses, tall hats, and maybe a few flying donuts.
