About this resource

What's inside this resource

Do you have fun pages that students fill out at the beginning or end of the year? Do they write about themselves, tell their favorites, write about fun memories throughout the school year? This product could be a great addition to what you already have, or you could pair it with some of my memory book page products. Having a fun keepsake for students to make is always fun. I love having students create one the first few weeks of school, then another one at the end of the year. They love to see how much they've changed during the school year.

This product is just a cover page. All of the pages look the same, and the only difference is the grade level listed.

Printing Note: If you want students to color in the bubble letters for My Memory Book, you may need to print in color. It will all still print in black and white, but the color setting will keep the bubble letter effect. You can check this before printing on the print preview page. Click on black/white or grayscale to see if the effect changes. If it does, make sure to hit color.

This product is great if you teach more than one grade level, or if you change grade levels in the future!

Teaching tips & learning objectives

Teaching tips

  • Choose the colour print setting even if you are printing in greyscale; the vendor notes that the bubble-letter effect on the title disappears under a black-and-white or grayscale setting, and the print preview will show you which you have

  • Print one cover for the grade you teach and keep the rest of the file; the same download covers a move to another year group later

  • Pair the cover with the pages a class already fills in about favourites and memories, since the file supplies the front page only

  • Running the same booklet twice, once in the first weeks of term and once at the end, gives children a before-and-after they can compare, and the cover is the piece that dates each copy

Skills covered

  • Keepsake assembly — the teacher prints the cover matching the year group and binds it in front of the memory pages a class completes.

  • Colouring and personalising — children colour the bubble-letter title on their own copy before the booklet goes home.

  • Multi-grade classroom preparation — one file covers eight year groups, so a teacher running mixed grades prints a different cover for each without a second purchase.

Good to know

Questions teachers ask about this resource

What is the difference between the eight cover pages?

The grade named on the cover. The design, the bubble-letter title and the layout stay the same on every page, so the file is really one cover supplied in a version for each year group.

Does the download include the pages that go inside the booklet?

The covers come on their own. The file holds the cover design in its grade versions plus a credits page, so it is meant to sit in front of memory pages a class already uses or that come from another set.
