Pumpkin Life Cycle Creative Writing Booklet for 2nd-5th Grade
About This Product
Discover the pumpkin life cycle while developing English Language Arts skills with this creative writing booklet! 2nd-5th graders will love the story of the incredible pumpkin.
Not only do they get to choose their own storyline, but they also get to draw along the way! Art and creative writing pair well together, making this a hands-on cross-curricular project.
GOAL: Learn the pumpkin life cycle while practicing creative writing skills.
HOW TO USE:
Print pp.7-13 for each student. The pages with a pumpkin background aren’t intended for printing but are for group work on a smart board.
Gather supplies. See the Supplies List on p.3. Cut each student page in half. Staple or paper clip together.
Read the Learning Pages on pp. 5 or 6 with students.
Complete the activity together, either by sharing them on a screen or sending to individual devices.
Begin reading and writing in booklets. If you would like to, have your students assemble their own booklets at this stage.
This is not meant to be done all in one day. Introduce it as an ELA lesson, then have students work on their booklets throughout the week. The pattern of each page is similar. Once they complete one page, they will understand how to do the rest independently.
Encourage students to have fun! There’s no correct way to design their incredible pumpkins.
