Sight Word Popcorn Activity

This resource is a Sight Word Popcorn Activity.

Here is a simple yet effective way of practicing sight words (otherwise known as dolch, or “popcorn” words).

Copy and cut the sight word popcorn pieces and laminate for durability.

A fun way to present this activity is to purchase some plastic popcorn containers to use.

Place the popcorn words in a larger container that students cannot see into A popcorn label is included to print and paste to the front of a plain bag.

Students take turns picking a popcorn piece without looking, and reading the word if they can. If they can read the word, the popcorn piece goes into their container and the next student then chooses a word.
