There are two choices for the research paper on the next pages. One is with a picture (drawing) box and one is without. Note, that I did supply you with an extra or 2nd picture box and non picture box full pages if you wanted to have your students write a longer or more extensive research paper as the year progresses or at the end of the year. It’s right before the “Instructions and Pointers” page.
• There are also some student examples I did in my classroom this year on the next pages of the sentences and research papers to show the students or just for your benefit. Teachers, they love doing these! I do these every Friday and the kids honestly can’t wait to do them. I always ask them when they are researching and writing (or typing), “Kids, does anyone have a fact that really surprised you or popped out at you?” My 5th graders are always so excited to tell me their facts about their mini-topic. They also love drawing and coloring their picture boxes. This is a wonderful Friday “chill time” activity to end the week. Some like to read theirs, too.
