St. Patrick's Day Paragraph Writing Activity

Are you looking for a fun St. Patrick's Day activity? Do you want your students to practice writing a paragraph in 5 sentences? This fun St. Patrick's Day writing activity has students practice writing a five sentence paragraph! Writing a five sentence paragraph is a very important skill that 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders should be able to do. Practicing paragraph writing with a holiday theme is easier sometimes for students.

This resource gives you one prompt about students finding a pot of gold.

The prompt has graphic organizers for students to organize their thoughts into 5 separate sentences. There are also a couple of different options for their final draft paper, including the shape of a pot of gold. I've also included examples of what students could write for their sentences.

It would be important for you to start this activity whole group. Have a discussion about what finding a pot of gold would mean, and where one might be found. If students are having a hard time coming up with ideas, my examples may help. If you have struggling writers, you may need to work with them in a small group.
