This activity is a Syllable Sort Activity Pack.
Pocket Chart Activity
Students will say the word and determine if it has 1, 2, or 3 syllables and place it in the correct column.
Materials Needed:
There are a set of color cards to print as well as a header and column numbers for the pocket chart
It is best used with a pocket chart wide enough for three columns.
Worksheets:
The first worksheet includes pictures for students to look at and determine how many syllables are in the word. The words are one, two or three syllables long. The second worksheet also includes pictures for the students to look at and determine the number of syllables except this time they color in the appropriate number of boxes. Again, the words are one, two or three syllables long.
The worksheets can be used for formal assessments, homework, morning work or independent work. The pocket chart activity is perfect for literary centers or other individual or partner work.
