¡Vamos al Zoológico! (Level I) - Spanish Short Story (Animals)

¡Vamos al Zoológico! (Level I) is a short Spanish story that reinforces learning of zoo animals. This resource can be used as a whole group lesson, small reading group, or as an independent reading assignment for early elementary students. The story introduces common zoo animals in Spanish, including seals, elephants, zebras, giraffes, polar bears, penguins, hippos, lions, tigers, rhinos, and monkeys. As students read the story, they will expand their Spanish vocabulary related to animals. This is level I out of two leveled versions. Level I uses more basic vocabulary and grammar for beginner Spanish readers. Level II provides more detail and advanced vocabulary for older or more proficient students. Using leveled texts allows the story to be accessible for students across multiple grade levels.
