About This Product

Celebrate our nation’s heroes with this set of Veterans Day learning activities. Designed for your 5th graders and 6th graders, these worksheets and activities will teach, engage, and have a lasting impact on all learners. There are a variety of activities that reach far beyond the classroom. Learners will have the opportunity to first learn about the history and meaning of Veterans Day, and then step into the community for additional educational experiences and service opportunities. There’s no better way to help instill a sense of pride in our country and appreciation for those who have defended our freedom. In the pages of this product, you’ll find cross-curricular worksheets and activities. Although they were created with Veterans Day in particular, you can use them throughout the school year as you teach about American history, civics, community, character, citizenship, and social studies. Some activities can be completed as a whole class, while others can be used in small groups or individually by your learners. Also included are 6 corresponding PowerPoint slides that showcase the timeline of Veterans Day. This can be used as a teaching tool, or a supplement to the timeline worksheet. Most worksheets in this product are available in a color version, as well as a black & white version. Many are also PRINT and GO. An answer key is also provided. This product contains a wide array of learning activities, all of which are detailed below.
