Weather Online Investigation for Spanish Class

After showing students how to tell the weather in Spanish, let them research the current weather of other parts of the world! With this worksheet students get to tell the weather of where they live, the weather of a Spanish-speaking country, and the weather of any other country in the world! Students get to choose countries that they are interested in and this makes for a very engaging task.

The worksheet is structured in questions that students must answer in complete sentences in Spanish. For each country, students must tell:

• The name of the country

• The name of the specific city

• The date of the forecast they are focusing on

• What the weather looks like according to the forecast

• What the weather feels like according to the forecast

• State the temperature in Spanish

In answering all of these questions, students can activate prior knowledge of forming the date in Spanish as well as using numbers when they tell the temperature (and of course, practice the new weather expressions that they just learned!). You can use this as supplement to one of your lessons, as homework, or even as a substitute plan!

Allow students to apply their new knowledge about weather expressions in Spanish by investigating the weather in different countries of the world. You can later expand this activity and ask students to share out loud one of the countries they chose!
