Year 4 Multiplication Maths Notes

Early sections examine factors, prime and composite numbers, common multiples, and multiples. The multiplication sequence then teaches two-digit-by-one-digit and two-digit-by-two-digit computation through the standard algorithm, area models, and partial products. Each topic repeats across three levels of support, combining a teacher example with procedural notes, buddy problems, and independent work. The parallel representations make it possible to compare methods while maintaining the same multiplication goal.
