A resume template paired with a fully completed example walks students through the standard sections of a first resume: objective, education, awards, work experience, club or sport experience, volunteer experience, and references. The worked example fills in every line for a fictional student profile working at a fictional restaurant, showing exactly how contact details, a one-sentence objective, and 2-3 sentence activity descriptions should read. Bracketed instructions beneath each heading explain what belongs there and note when a section should be skipped entirely, such as omitting the awards heading if a student has none. Teachers can hand out the blank template for students to draft their own resume while the completed example sits alongside it as a formatting model.
