This is a Busy Learning CVC Spelling Packet. The focus is on Short Vowel Words. There are 15 pages in this packet. Each page will have a chart , a word with a missing vowel, and vowel options. Students will say the name of the picture and determine the missing vowel needed to spell the word. Then they will write the letter in the box. The pictures and words included are: 1. Cat – done for students 2. Hat 3. Rat 4. Jet 5. Vet 6. Wet 7. Dig 8. Pig 9. Wig 10. Cop 11. Mop 12. Top 13. Cut 14. Hut 15. Nut This can be used as an early finishers activity or used in small group with the teacher. You can print and laminate each of these pages if you want it to be a reusable activity. Within small groups, you will be able to listen to students sound these words out. You will determine if students can identify the correct short vowel, but you will also determine their ability to pronounce beginning and ending sounds. You can extend this activity by having students use the words in a complete sentence. This is great for students who finish this activity quickly or need an additional challenge.
