Use individually or in small groups to boost confidence decoding simple phonics. Implement as a supplement for early learning programs or remedial reading interventions. The vocabulary builds on previous books but can stand alone. These teacher-created materials engage preschool through second grade students at various reading levels. SP Beginning Blends Worksheets / Phonemic Awareness Activities
Reading, ELA, Language Development, Phonics, Spelling, Special Education Needs (SEN), Special Resources, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Word Searches

This SP fun, Find and Color worksheet for beginning blends is Splendid for acquainting children orally with initial consonant blends and helping them develop the necessary phonemic awareness in preparation for more advanced blending work, involving four phonemes. What is included in the pack? One PDF sheet for the SP blend. What do the worksheets involve? Pupils are instructed to combine the two letters on each worksheet and then look for objects that start with that consonant blend. Then, these items ought to be coloured, leaving the others uncoloured. Children can easily work on the sheets unaided once they have been instructed, although, with those children with special needs, it is strongly suggested that an adult works with the child for maximum benefit. How to use The introduction of the concept of initial blends needs to be done thoroughly. When I work with children, especially those with a special need, I first like to teach children to blend two consonant letters. Then I work on developing the children's phonemic awareness: that being the ability to hear two consonant letters blended at the beginning of a word, easily. This is difficult for some pupils and takes a lot of practice. These worksheets can assist by first encouraging students to blend the two consonant letters and then by helping them to hear the blend at the start of a word. As often as you can, practice blending the letters in each initial blend and encourage the students to follow suit. I find that modelling is key at this stage. Who are the initial blends Find and colour worksheets for? Young learners Those with a special need Due to their non-babyish nature, they can be successfully used with older ESL/EFL pupils. Answer keys: The answer key is included on the sheet, in small print.

Tally Marks Game – Learning to Count with a Soccer Twist Similar to Dobble / Spot it! A hands-on matching game for grades 1–6 (PDF – Dobble / Spot It! style) ⚽📊 This resource is a playful way to help students practice tally marks while staying active and engaged. The game is based on the popular “Find the Twin” concept (similar to Dobble or Spot It!) and helps children recognize and count tally lines quickly and confidently. Each card shows six symbols – including different tally mark patterns – and players have to find the matching pair between any two cards. The game encourages concentration, quick visual comparison, and number recognition, all while reinforcing how tally marks work. What’s included: 93 cards total → 3 full sets with 31 cards each 3 versions: → round cards → cut-friendly square cards → hexagonal cards All with clear, child-friendly visuals Instructions for flexible classroom use How I’ve used it in class: I like to use this game in small math stations or as a warm-up activity. It’s also a favorite for early finishers or during quieter times when a bit of movement and interaction is helpful. You can laminate the cards for long-term use, or simply print them on heavier paper. The game works in pairs or small groups – and students pick up the rules quickly. Beyond basic counting, the game helps introduce how we group numbers for clarity, which is a useful step toward early data handling and bar graphs. And the sporty theme adds just the right amount of energy. Print, cut, and play – no prep needed, and lots of learning packed into a simple activity. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? SCOOT Linear Equations with Variables on Both Sides
Math, Algebra, Grade 7, 8, 9, 10, Worksheets & Printables, Flashcards

Looking for a fun and engaging way to help your students master the art of solving equations with variables on both sides? Look no further than this exciting new Scoot game! Featuring task cards that challenge students to solve multi-step equations using the distributive property, combining like terms, and integers, this game is the perfect way to make algebra practice more enjoyable and rewarding for students. The game is easy to set up and play. Simply put a question card on each desk, and give each student an answer sheet and a pencil. Students will then answer the question card on their desk and record their answer on their answer sheet, making sure to answer the correct number. Set a time limit (such as 2 minutes) for students to answer each question, and then say "Scoot". When you say "Scoot", students will quickly stand up, leave their card at their desk, and move to the next desk with the next number, where they will start working immediately on the next question. Once all students have completed the task cards, you can check the answers as a group, providing feedback and corrections as needed. This format encourages students to work at their own pace, while also promoting collaboration and teamwork as they move around the classroom and work with their peers. In addition to the Scoot game, there are other ways to use task cards in the classroom. For example, you could use them as an exit slip, with a student choosing a card and solving the equation before leaving class. Alternatively, you could copy the cards onto colored card stock, laminate them, and use them year after year, making them a valuable and versatile addition to your classroom resources. Overall, this Scoot game is a great way to make algebra practice more engaging and enjoyable for students, while also promoting critical thinking skills and collaborative learning. So why not give it a try in your classroom today, and see how much fun solving equations with variables on both sides can be!
