Nothing But The Truth by Avi is a documentary novel telling the story of student Philip Malloy and his homeroom teacher, Miss Margaret Narwin. Interesting things happen when Philip challenges Miss Narwin and the Harrison School District by singing The Star-Spangled Banner during homeroom, in violation of the school's policy. This PDF file of Socratic Seminar Questions contains twenty-six carefully crafted questions on seven pages. The first six pages have four questions each. An additional seventh page contains two summary questions which require more detailed responses from the students. All of the questions can be used to facilitate in-class discussions about the novel.Each page contains questions related to one or a group of chapters (page 1 = Chapters 1-9; page 2 = Chapters 10-11, page 3 = Chapter 12, etc.).
