Apostrophes: Contraction or Possessives Activity
About This Product
Here is an Apostrophes: Contraction or Possessives Activity that your students will love! This activity was designed with 2nd – 4th grade students in mind. Students will have a blast color coding as they discern the difference between the words.
What You Get:
-- 3 anchor charts that serve as great student reference sheets before, during, and after the instruction/activity. The anchor charts are perfect for whole group teaching or differentiating in small groups to teach apostrophe uses.
-- 2 types of Color-Coding Practice worksheets. Students can identify with just the word, or they can identify within a sentence. There are 2 worksheets per each type, for a total of 4 pages.
-- Writing Extension Activity
How This Activity Works:
Students will read each word or sentence on the page. If the word or underlined word is a contraction, they will color it green. If the word or underlined word is a possessive, they will color it blue.
For the writing extension activity, after students have completed the color-coding activity, they can use the words in their own sentences and practice using apostrophes correctly.
I hope you enjoy!
