About This Product
Introduction to the Chocolate Box CVC Words Pack
Are you looking for a fun activity encouraging children to get much-needed sounding out practice of CVC words?
Look no further!
These boxes of chocolates help children get the practice they need in sounding out CVC words.
Children take a box of chocolates and decode each word in the box.
The objective of the Chocolate Box CVC Words Pack
Some children need extensive early blending practice, and it can be challenging to find ways to encourage them to keep trying and practising. These chocolate boxes can help! Children will be drawn to the chocolates and want to sound out the words on each chocolate in each box! With 16 boxes to choose from, each focusing on a sound family (e.g., ap/at/ot/ut/ etc.), children will get plenty of practice!

Give each pair of children 4 boxes. Let them each choose a box and read the words to their partner. The partner then takes a box and does the same.
Let one child see how many boxes they can read in a set amount of time, e.g. 3 minutes.
With a group of children, scatter the boxes don't he table. Children choose a box, read the words and place the box to their right. They then take another box and do the same until no more boxes are left. The child with the most boxes when there are no more left is the winner.
