What’s inside?
I created this resource with grades 4th to 7th in mind because I wanted something that makes cultural learning easy to understand, but still interesting for older elementary and middle-grade students. While designing it, my goal was to give students a chance to read, think, discuss, and create - all in one meaningful lesson.

This resource includes:

• A reading comprehension passage that compares Día de los Muertos (Mexico) and Shradh (India)

• A small set of Día de los Muertos vocabulary words

• Pictures of both Día de los Muertos and Shradh ceremonies to support understanding

• A simple mask-making craft activity

• A certificate you can award to students when they finish
