Divide 3,4,5-digit numbers by 1 & 2-digit numbers
About This Product
This NO PREP virtually unlimited resource will provide you with many levels of differentiated worksheets for your students to practice dividing 3,4 and 5-digit dividends by 1 and 2-digit divisors with and without remainders all year round with THE STANDARD ALGORITHM. All the numbers are whole numbers.
There are 5 levels of differentiation, all having the option of worksheets with or without remainders and the choice of visual support or not
Level 1: 3-digit numbers divided by 1-digit numbers with a whole worksheet with questions with a single divisor from 2 to 9, or a page of mixed divisors
Level 2: 4-digit numbers divided by 1-digit numbers with the same choices of divisors as above.
Level 3: 5-digit numbers divided by 1-digit numbers with the same choices of divisor as with Level 1
Level 4: 5-digit numbers number divided by a multiple of 10, from 10 to 90.
Choose to have a worksheet with a single divisor from 20 to 90, or have a page with mixed divisors
Level 5: 5-digit numbers divided by a number from 20 to 99.
Choose to have a worksheet with divisors from 20-29, 30-39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59 ... to ... 90-99, or a page of mixed divisors from
Visual Support
Worksheets are presented with the divisor & dividend and the space ready for the quotient .... or ....
With the above plus the scaffolding for each step of the process, with the arrows indicating the numbers to be drawn down.
How many worksheets are in each set ?
Almost unlimited. At the click of a button all numbers are randomised, so the questions change every time. This will allow you to create as many new worksheets you will need for practice throughout the year (classwork, homework, revision, fillers etc) or even give small groups of students in your class different sets of questions either at the same level or differentiated .
There will certainly be enough to ensure fluency in this topic.
You could also use any of the worksheets to explain or introduce the subject to your class as you will have almost unlimited examples to work with and they will be different from the actual worksheets you hand out to your students.
As these worksheets need little explanation and no preparation, they are ideal if you need to leave work for a replacement teacher.
Answers can be found on the second page of every worksheet, automatically generated when you create a new worksheet. They show every step of the standard algorithm towards the solution. This for ALL Worksheets.
Note
These resources are PDF documents and work with the official Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows or Mac computers with the randomising buttons also working via a touchscreen (PC or Mac)or on an Interactive Whiteboard.
Common Core
CCSS4.NBT.B.6
Find whole-number quotients and remainders with up to four-digit dividends and one-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular
arrays, and/or area models.
CCSS5.NBT.B.6
Find whole-number quotients of whole numbers with up to four-digit dividends and two-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
CCSS6.NS.B.2
Fluently divide multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm.
Australian Curriculum - ACMNA076 - Develop efficient written strategies for division where there is no remainder.
