Do you need a new idea for your 6th Grade Expressions and Equations unit? Do you want to get your students engaged and working together while practicing lots of math skills? Try this fun and NO PREP Exponent Board Game!
It is designed to target Common Core Standards 6EE.A.1 and 6EE.A.2 so it is perfect for 6th grade classes who are starting to learn about whole number exponents. It could also be a great review in grades 7 and 8 or could even be a useful tool in high school special education classrooms.

Title Page
Handout: This introduces students to the basic vocabulary surrounding exponents: base, exponent, squared, cubed. It shows them how exponents can be used with whole numbers and also with variables. There are even a few practice problems as a quick warm-up.
Recording sheet: Print one of these for each student so they can record their answers as they play the game.
Board Game: You need to print one of these for each group of 2-4 students. You will also need to provide dice. Students can use any small object as their counter on the board.
Answer Key: You could provide this to students if you want them to be able to check their own work, or you can keep it for yourself.
