Teaching tips & learning objectives
Learning objectives
Recall and write the products of the 2 through 12 times tables from × 1 to × 12
Complete a full table in sequence, so the count-by pattern for each factor becomes visible down the page
Work the harder tables — 7, 8, 11 and 12 — in the same layout as the easier ones, without a change of format to adjust to
Teaching tips
Every page is laid out identically, so one page can be used as a timed check and the next as untimed practice without re-explaining anything
The pages are separable by factor, which lets a class work the table currently being taught rather than the whole set at once
Both halves of each page hold six equations, so folding a page down the middle turns it into two short six-fact drills
The set runs to × 12 rather than stopping at × 10, so it also covers the eleven and twelve facts that some tables practice leaves out
Skills covered
Multiplication fact recall — students write the product for each of the 132 equations, from 2 × 1 through to 12 × 12.
Working a table in order — each page runs × 1 to × 12 without gaps, so the products form the count-by sequence for that factor as the page is filled.
Handling the larger factors — the 7, 8, 11 and 12 tables get their own full pages rather than being folded into a mixed review.
Written computation practice — every answer is written on a ruled blank rather than selected from options, so the fact has to be produced rather than recognised.
Good to know
Questions teachers ask about this resource
Which tables does the set cover?
The 2 times table through the 12, on eleven pages headed TABLE OF 2 to TABLE OF 12, and each of those pages runs the full sequence from × 1 to × 12. The title page heads the set "1 TO 12"; the × 1 facts appear as the opening line of every table page rather than on a page of their own.
How are the twelve equations arranged on a page?
In two columns of six. The left column carries × 1 through × 6 and the right column × 7 through × 12, each equation followed by a blank line for the answer. The arrangement is the same on all eleven pages.
